Another great post, very eye opening. I knew that republicans had big money behind them in the form of a slew of wealthy donors giving large sums, but I did not know there was such a disparity. And I know this isn’t an apples to apples comparison, but it still sheds light on how the funding trends for each party.
Something I’m curious about because I don’t fully understand the implications of it, But has the Citizens United made this worse? My understanding is that removed restrictions for corporate donors but my assumption is that they were just more creative about hiding it prior to Citizens United. Regardless, that seems like a real body blow to democracy.
