Religion and politics should not mix, yet extreme fundamentalist leaders and their cult-like followers have been influencing elections for decades. This year it’s critical that they be held at bay or this country will be taking an enormous step backwards. I fear the impact they will (and already do) have on the future of our individual rights, especially as women. Voters need to educate themselves and separate religion and state in November.
