Episode 6: The Way-too-Early Preview of Indiana's 2024 Statewide Races
Love the banter between you and Tom. And, as always, appreciate informing an old person of the nuances of politics.
A long time since I grew up in Indiana. In my youth there were signs posted at the country road entrance to Gas City, Jonesboro, Fairmount, Swaysee and Sweetzer that said: (pardon what I'm about to write but this exactly what the signs said):
NIGGERS WHO ENTER THE LIMITS OF THIS COMMUNITY CAN BE SHOT.
STAY OUT!!!
No such signs in Marion though, apparently the only place blacks could enter. But then of course Marion had a lot of iron foundries and heavy industry.
As I said, a long time ago, growing up in Grant County.
Or will the signs soon be back across America?
